Pillars of Sustainable Development Goals

The Company focuses on sustainable  development program in 3 (three) pillars of Triple Bottom Line’s, “3P”,  which is “Profit, People, Planet”.  In addition to the pursuit of profit, the Company attempts to pay attention and involve in the fulfillment of people welfare and contribute actively in preserving environment (planet).

Sustainablility Report Profile

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the Company’s commitment to build a better  life quality along with the Stakeholders (stakeholder) in wherever  the Company is located, organized  integrally and sustainably by upholding  good business ethics, social justice, and concern.

Through this Sustainability Report published in 2015, the Company attempts to report GCG implementation of GCG and CSR programs  from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015.  This Sustainability Report is also a form of monumental first step for the Company and will be continued in the future.

2015 Sustainability Report of PT WIKA Beton Tbk becomes  a form of CSR reporting  obligations fulfillment as required in Article 66 paragraph 2 C, Law No. 40 Year 2007 on Limited Liability Company.  The report is based on Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (SRG) issued by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), version 4 (GRI 4), based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Measurement of quantitative data and analysis is conducted referring to the related indicators which are contained in GRI 4, by including provisions that  become  reference.  To facilitate the readers in understanding the conformity of report with the standards, we have presented index of GRI 4 on the last page of the report.

The last but not least, we consider this report as an integral part of 2015 Annual Report of PT WIKA Beton Tbk. Therefore, there are some unavoidable  repetitions  since both reports are complementary to each other in representing the practices of the Company’s principles of transparency in disclosing business performance achievement and its connection with the sustainable  development in the future.

Environmental Performance

Waste  Management

During concrete  making process, the Company produces production waste that  is not dangerous and poisonous (B3 waste). Before dumping, the waste is first flowed to ponds to clean it from mud. The clean water from mud pool is flowed to the filtering, while the silt is used by the society for environment maintenance such as streets and embankment.

The volume of silt used by the community in 2015 was 3,532  m3, while it was 92,179 m3 in 2014.The  silt was used for strengthening the infrastructure as shown in the table below:

 

In other environmental  fields, the Company repaired waterways  whose locations are close to factory and project. The Company also conducts  a few programs  such as house reparation, fish hatchery for the society around  the factory and river cleaning. In addition,  the Company continues  to report Environmental Management and Observation Efforts (UKL-UPL) to the Local Environmental Agency.

Analysis  Of Environmental Impact (AMDAL)

In certain period, the Company conducts  external audit through cooperation with PT Sucofindo (Persero) to check occupational safety management system in which it includes waste management. All this time, the waste produced by the Company is liquid waste which then  is re-processed to be utilized. If the re-processed waste is not being utilized, the Company gets rid of the waste in areas that  have been determined beforehand. Concerning  solid waste,  the Company cooperates with local citizen to make use of the waste as ground  cover. The waste can also be used to repair streets.  Regarding dust waste,  its level is always maintained to be within the limit stipulated  by the Environmental Impact Management Agency (BAPEDAL). The Company attempts to reduce dust waste by planting trees in location near the factory.

Other than  trees planting and waste management, the Company complies with the rules stipulated  by the Government, especially rules regarding  environment. The Company seeks to be responsible  by applying for permission in the form of UKL-UPL analysis of environmental  impact.
